The calendar’s doing that late-summer thing where the library becomes the cool place to be — literally and figuratively. There’s art, chess, a volunteer fair, and enough community networking to keep the grown-ups occupied too. Here’s the short list worth knowing about through Aug. 8.
Fun with the Family
Orbit's Library Show lands at Katherine Tyra Branch Library @ Bear Creek on Wednesday, July 30 at 3pm.
Fulshear Branch Library has an afternoon of making on Wednesday, July 29: Intro to 3D Printing at 2pm, followed by Untrash and Upcycle! at 3pm.
Eco-Art Workshop with Artist Boat! is Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 10am and 2pm at Bear Creek, and Kids, Tweens, and Teens: Learn Chess this summer at the Library! starts at 4:30pm at Maud Smith Marks.
Also at the libraries this week: Wagging Tales at Bear Creek on Aug. 1 and 8, plus preschool, baby, and toddler story times at Maud Smith Marks. Typhoon Texas also lists its Summer Luau, Faith and Family Nights, and Family Slide Nights.
